Converting traffic into leads: more enquiries from the visitors you already have

Most visitors leave without getting in touch. We build the websites and landing pages, and run the tests, that turn more of them into enquiries, so every pound you spend on traffic works harder.

How do you convert more website visitors into leads?

You convert more visitors by giving each one a page that matches what they searched for, proof that you can be trusted, and an easy next step: a short form, a phone number or a booking link. Then you measure where people drop off and fix those points one by one. Lead Gems builds websites and landing pages around this, and improves them with real visitor data.

Signs this is where you need help

If any of these sound familiar, your website is the bottleneck, not your traffic.

  • You get visitors, or ad clicks, but very few enquiries.
  • Your paid traffic goes to your homepage rather than a page for that service.
  • Your website is slow or awkward on a phone.
  • Your contact form asks for more than you need.
  • Nobody can say which pages produce enquiries.

The bigger picture

Why conversion comes before more traffic

Doubling your traffic doubles your ad bill. Doubling your conversion rate doubles your enquiries for the same spend. That is why we look at what happens after the click before we recommend spending more.

Because we also run the ads, we know exactly what each visitor searched for. Every landing page continues that conversation, and every enquiry is tracked into your CRM, so we can see which changes bring in clients and not just form fills.

Every figure comes from a real client account and is tracked to the enquiry.

Questions

Converting Traffic Into Leads questions, answered.

What is a good website conversion rate?

It depends on your sector and traffic source. Unbounce’s 2024 benchmark report, covering more than 41,000 landing pages, put the median across industries at 6.6%. The more useful benchmark is your own: we measure it, then improve it.

Should paid traffic go to our homepage?

Usually not. A dedicated landing page that matches the ad and gives one clear next step tends to convert far better than a homepage built for browsing.

Do we need a new website?

Not always. If your site is sound, landing pages and conversion improvements are often faster and cheaper. If it is slow, hard to update or has no page per service, a rebuild usually pays for itself.

Will changing our website hurt our Google rankings?

Not if it is done properly. We keep the pages and content that rank, and redirect every old address to its new home.
